Party Guard: hear it the moment a teammate's connection drops

A free disconnect alarm for Tibia hunting parties. Open a room, share the link with your team and keep the page open while you hunt. Everyone's ping shows live, and the moment someone's internet drops, everyone else hears an alarm and their name, so you can pull back, cover them or get out before it turns into a wipe.

How it works

  1. 1. Open a room

Pick the alarm your party will hear and create a room. You get a private link nobody can guess.

  2. 2. Share the link

Post it in your party chat or Discord. Everyone opens it, types the name the others will see, and taps Join, which also turns sound on: browsers only play sound after a click.

  3. 3. Hunt with the page open

The room shows each member's ping to us right now and its average over the last 5 and 10 seconds, so a connection getting shaky shows before it fails.

  4. 4. Hear the drop

When someone's connection stops answering for 6 seconds, every other page in the room plays the alarm and says their name until they are back or you silence it.

What it measures

Party Guard measures each browser's connection to our server, not Tibia's own connection to CipSoft. Both travel over the same home internet, so when a router restarts, Wi-Fi cuts out or an internet provider goes down, the game and the page lose it together, and the room hears about it within seconds. It cannot see a problem on CipSoft's side or a game client that froze while the internet stayed up.

One alarm for the whole party

The room has one alarm sound, chosen when it is created; anyone in it can change it, and everyone hears the change. The alarm keeps playing while a teammate is down and says their name out loud in your language, so you know who dropped without looking. Silence it for that drop with one click; the next drop sounds again. A short tone plays when they come back.

On a phone

Phones pause a browser page when it goes to the background, which would look exactly like a drop. So a phone tells the room before it goes, and shows up as paused instead of dropped. To be watched, keep the page on screen; the room asks the phone to keep its screen on while it is open.

No account, nothing kept

You don't sign in and nothing is saved: a room is a random code, the names typed into it and the alarm, held in memory and forgotten half an hour after the last person leaves. Your browser keeps your name and a random id so a reload brings you back as yourself.

Questions

Does it need an add-on or a program?

No. It is a web page; any up-to-date browser on a computer or phone works. On a computer the tab can stay in the background.

How fast does it notice a drop?

Each member is checked every 2 seconds, and 6 seconds without an answer counts as a drop. Closing the page is not a drop: the room shows that person as having left, without an alarm.

How many people can be in a room?

Up to 25, enough for any party or a whole team of them.

What happens when Lemon Bot updates?

Every page reconnects by itself within a few seconds, without sounding the alarm, and the room carries on.

Lemon Bot does the rest for your guild

Party Guard is a free tool from Lemon Bot, the Discord bot for Tibia war guilds: a near-real-time death feed for your world, hunted and allied lists, online lists, boss forecasts, a respawn board and more.
